Applied Voice consists of one half-hour private voice lesson with Dr. Farthing per week. The class also meets with all of the Applied Music students on Thursdays from 12:00-1:30 in FA 101. As a member of Applied Voice, the student also receives coaching from the Saddleback College Staff Pianist every week as well. The Applied Voice program is extremely competitive to be accepted into and is highly demanding of the student. It is expressly designed for the student who will be transferring to a University or Conservatory setting. Members of the Applied Voice program are also given opportunities throughout the semester for extra performances in Opera scenes and concert versions of small chamber operas that are appropriate for young singers.
